Nerivio Account Deletion

This article explains what it means to delete your Nerivio account, what happens to your data and device access, how the deletion process works, and important considerations for parent accounts.

IMPORTANT: Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. After the process is complete, the account cannot be restored and you will no longer be able to connect and use the Nerivio device, even if there are more treatments left in it.

Please read this information carefully before submitting a request.

What Does Account Deletion Mean?

An approved account deletion request means that your Nerivio user account and personal data will be permanently removed from our systems once the deletion process is complete.

IMPORTANT: After your account is deleted:

  • You will no longer be able to log in with the deleted account and will be required to create a new account to start treating with Nerivio again.

  • You will no longer be able to connect and use the Nerivio device, even if there are more treatments left in it

  • Your account data will no longer be accessible

  • Your treatment history, settings, and in-app preferences will no longer be accessible

  • Your account cannot be recovered or restored

What Happens to Your Data?

When your Nerivio account is deleted:

  • Personal identifiers (such as name, email address, and account credentials) are deleted

  • Treatment records, usage data, and in-app history are anonymized

  • Your data will no longer be associated with you as an identifiable user

In some cases, limited data may be retained for a legally required period, such as:

  • Compliance with medical device regulations

  • Legal, regulatory, or audit obligations

  • Fraud prevention or safety monitoring

Any retained data is stored securely and handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws (such as HIPAA and GDPR, where applicable).

When Account Deletion Makes Sense

Account deletion may be the right choice if:

  1. You no longer plan to use your Nerivio device
    For example, if you have stopped treating migraine with Nerivio and do not expect to use it again.

  2. You want your personal data permanently removed
    If you prefer not to keep an active Nerivio account or stored treatment data.

  3. You understand that deletion is permanent and irreversible
    Including loss of ability to connect your device, treatment history, settings, and account access.

When You Should Not Delete Your Account

Account deletion may not be the right solution if:

  1. You plan to continue using your Nerivio device
    An active account is required to start, manage, and track treatments.

  2. You are experiencing device, connectivity, or refill unit issues
    These issues can often be resolved by troubleshooting or contacting Nerivio Support. Account deletion will not fix them.

  3. You are the parent or caregiver supervising a child’s Nerivio account
    Deleting a parent account removes supervision and management features and irreversibly disrupts the child’s treatment.

  4. You want a break from the app but may return later
    You do not need to delete your account if you simply plan to stop using the app temporarily.

How to Request Account Deletion

There are a few options to delete your account:

  • Through the Nerivio app - via account Settings.

  • Through the Nerivio website - via link on the footer.

Choose the option that is most convenient for you and follow the instructions to submit your request.

Account Deletion Process

The account deletion process includes the following steps:

  1. You submit a deletion request

  2. You receive a confirmation email at the email address associated with your account

  3. You must confirm the deletion request using the instructions in the email

  4. Once confirmed, your account is placed in a pending deletion state

  5. Your account is permanently deleted in up to 10 days after confirmation

While your account deletion request is pending:

  • You may continue to use the Nerivio app and device until the account is permanently deleted.

  • You may cancel the deletion request by contacting Nerivio Support, as long as the request is canceled before the deletion is completed.

  • Once the deletion process is complete, the account cannot be restored.

Parent Account Deletion

A parent account is a supervisory account used to manage and monitor a linked child account.

If a parent account is deleted:

  • The parent will no longer be able to supervise or manage the child account

  • Access to treatment monitoring, permissions, and settings at the parent level will be removed

  • Supervision and control features will no longer be available

Important: Deleting a parent account may impact the child’s ability to use Nerivio as intended. Please review this carefully before submitting a deletion request.
